All right, welcome to class number three in the Tree of Liberty Society, Extremists Liberty Boot Camp. I am so excited to present this class, too. This is honestly my favorite one of the boot camp if I can have a favorite. But hopefully you've gone over the first two classes in this series and you've gone through the quizzes to just to kind of make sure that you are as comfortable with the information as you would like to be to be able to move on. And so we are going to be getting into what is it that we're trying to build? These first three classes are on the fundamentals and the foundations of what it is that we're building. And so that when we get into what it is that's really hampering us from doing these things, we understand the solution and why it is not the traditional solutions that we're being told in the media today. So let's get right into it. This is we're talking about the kingdom of God, the political kingdom of God. And of course, just as always, the purpose of this boot camp is to build understanding of the principles that have built free nations, expose the satanic conspiracy, and build an effective resistance to that conspiracy. That's what we are trying to do with these classes. And these are things that you are not going to see anywhere else. So Satan's kingdom clearly rages. We don't need to be getting into the conspiracy portion of the training of the boot camps to be able to understand that process. But why, right? First of all, we need to get into that aspect of what it is. So we have the conspiracy that we are facing. It's raging. And how do we defeat Satan's kingdom? We have to understand this principle that we find in Ether chapter 8, where Maronai is explaining the conspiracy in his day that it destroyed the Syrac combinations of the Sea Combinations destroyed his civilization, but the Sea of Combinations was the cause, the root cause of the destruction of the Jaredites. And then he's like, I need to tell you guys the people that are reading this book, what's going on? He says, wherefore, O ye Gentiles, those of you reading this book and believing it is wisdom in God that these things should be shown unto you, that thereby ye may repent of your sins. My sins, your sins. We made, as we're reading this, we're going to repent of our sins. What sin is that? Specifically, he says, and suffer not that these murderous combinations shall get above you. We need to repent of the sin of allowing it to get above us, which are built up to get power and gain, and the work, even the work of destruction come upon you, yea, even the sword of the justice of the eternal God shall fall upon you to your overthrown destruction if ye shall suffer these things, meaning allow these things to be. If you allow these things to be, if I allow these things to be, these are promises. If this, then that scenarios that we talked about in boot camp number one. Wherefore the Lord commandeth you, commandeth me, commandeth you, When you shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation because of the seer accommodation which shall be among you. It shall be there. He's like, I know, I know it's there. It's not like, oh, if there was something you could do to prevent it. Oh, it's there. Too late. Now I get to go hide in my cave and just watch the world fall apart. No, no, no. Wherefore, I, Moroni, am commanded to write these things that evil may be done away. And that the time may come that Satan may have no power upon the hearts of the children of men. No power upon the hearts of the children of men. He's not saying that knowing about these dark things give them power. No, no, no. He is saying that understanding these things is essential to being able to bind Satan. Okay. So what is it that we're trying to, that these things are stopping to build? It's our job with God's help before Christ returns, but how? We have to understand the principles that we've covered in the first two classes because that's what we're trying to build. But to what end are we trying to build them. The Constitution in the United States is not a ends to a means. It is a means to an end. Orson Pratt explained, but with all its glory, meaning all the Constitution's glory and greatness and perfection, it was only a stepping stone to a form of government infinitely greater and more perfect, a government bounded upon divine laws with all of its institutions, ordinances, and officers appointed by the God of heaven. So what is a stepping stone? It's the path that leads to where you're going. And so the constitution, understanding the constitution and applying its principles is the path that leads us to something far greater, which is the kingdom of God on the earth. But what is the kingdom of God? These are some of the ideas, right? These are the pictures that are in our minds sometimes of this utopia, kind of like the idea of like we're just in heaven for the rest of eternity, just playing harps. But that's, that's a false idea because it's reality. We need to understand the reality that the kingdom of God is grounded in. And it's been on earth throughout time. We have, of course, during the times of Adam, we have the city of Enoch, we have the beginning of the restoration of the gospel during the days of Abraham. And of course, Moses had the kingdom of God as well. And it's not just a Latter -day Saint doctrine. It's a mainstream Christian doctrine that just, you know, that because of the blindness of, you know, the craftiness of men, we've been blinded by the reality of what this is. We find the kingdom of God mentioned, the latter day kingdom of God mentioned in the Old Testament, in the book of Daniel. And of course, you know, we all know the story. Daniel was a prisoner and he was known for being able to interpret dreams. And the king had his own priests that were not able to interpret his dream. And so Daniel was called to interpret the dream. And he was able to not only interpret the dream, but he was able to tell the king his dream before the king told him the dream. And then he was able to interpret it. So in Moses chapter two, I mean not Moses, Daniel chapter two, it says, and in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed and the kingdom shall not be left to other people but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it shall stand forever this kingdom of god shall stand forever for as much as thou saw us that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands so that's that stone that we always hear about and then the the savior himself in the New Testament talks about the kingdom of God, but it is at hand. And we see in the book of Revelation in the New Testament. This scripture, in Revelation 12, it says, And there appeared a great wonder in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of 12 stars. And she, being with child, cried traveling in birth and pain to be delivered. And she brought forth a manchild who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. Again, talking about the political kingdom of God in the last days. This was a pastor and writer, Ron McKenzie, wrote this book, The Government of God, not to be confused with John Taylor's government of God, but this mainstream Christian pastor said, in a world where most people are fed up with their government, an announcement of a new government is good news. The coming of a better government is extremely good news. When we first hear the expression, government of God, it seems odd. The thought of the government of God expanding throughout the world sounds strange to our ears. But that was Jesus' message. He announced that the government of God is near and promised, that it will expand until it fills the whole earth. This is not just something that is, you know, that just happens in Christ is like, okay, I'm here now and I'm here to implement my kingdom. It is something that grows and expands while the other nations of the earth still exists and replaces those nations that do not protect liberty. So here we see the kingdom of God in Mormonism. What is the kingdom of God? The prophet Joseph Smith explained that the two, the church and the kingdom, were distinct organizations that the church was not designed to govern men in civil matters, and the kingdom was not to affect our salvation hereafter. Two distinct separate organizations with two distinct jobs, two distinct roles. In another instance, he explained that there is a distinction between the Church of God and the Kingdom of God, And it is an entire distinct and separate government. The church is a spiritual matter and a spiritual kingdom. But the kingdom which Daniel saw was not a spiritual kingdom, but was designed to be got up for the safety and salvation of the saints by protecting them in their religious rights and worship. So again, he's distinguishing them, that the kingdom that Daniel Saul is not the church, even though that is culturally what we have, you know, as a people, as, you know, just Christianity in general as well. But the people in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints believe that the church itself is the kingdom of God. But the prophet Joseph, which was called to establish that kingdom, says, no, that is a, that is not the case. These are two separate organizations. And that continue to be taught after the death of the prophet Joseph. George Cucannon explained, we have been taught from the beginning this important principle, that the Church of God is distinct from the kingdom of God. In the midst of all of us who understand this matter, there is a clear distinction between the church in its ecclesiastal capacity and that which may be termed the government of God in its political capacity. Again, these ideas have been lost over time, but the people in the early restoration understood this clearly. The kingdom of God is not the church. The kingdom of God is a political organization. So there have been, for a long time, there wasn't a lot of resources out there for us to be able to learn more about this. But now we are in just a golden age of being able to learn more about the inner workings and what the goals were and different things about the kingdom of God that we never had before. For a long time, we just had access to this book right here by Klaus Hansen. And it served its purpose. It was not written by a member of the church. And so it was something that anybody, you know, accessible to anybody that wanted to learn more about what the Prophet Joseph was doing. And that was like in the 60s, 70s. And for a long time, that's really all we had until literally the 2000s. 2012, a new book came out, and it was more of a, it's a documentary history as opposed to like a literary history, something that's telling a story. This is, this right here, this book is the Council of 50s minutes during the administration of Brigham Young and John Taylor. This was published roughly around 2012, and then a couple of years later, the Joseph Smith project released the minutes of the Council of 50 during the lifetime of Joseph Smith. And so what's really interesting about this, right, because William Clayton, he was the scribe for the prophet Joseph, and he was told to either destroy them or to bury them. And so thankfully, there were some that were destroyed, but we have a lot of them that are found in this volume that he buried and was able to bring out West. And so that's a really good resource. Another resource that is not a documentary history, but historians that in this book, the Council of 50, published by Desirette book, each chapter is a different historian going into what are some of the things that, you know, you know, brought out while reading the council of 50 minutes. And in fact, at the tree of liberty society .com website, if you go to the book club tab, we actually did this, this book, the council of 50 in our book club and went through that. And you can listen to our discussions about that book there. So if you want to go check that out, it's a great resource as well. So If you want to learn more than what we're able to just scratch the surface of in this class, this is where I recommend that you go first. So the governing body is the Council of 50. And there was a revelation given in 1844 for the governing of the Council of 50, the Kingdom of God. And what's really interesting about this revelation, right, if you compare the different governments of the Earth, you have the documents, the governing documents for those organizations. Like the UN Charter is many, many pages long, and then shorter than that is, of course, that's a satanic document, so it's evil, so it's going to be longer. And then the shorter document, the U .S. Constitution is even shorter. And then we have this revelation that was given to the Prophet Joseph. They were trying to establish a constitution and write a constitution that would really embody the principles that they were trying to establish. And it ended up being more of a declaration of independence type document. It was more of a manifesto, something that declared what their beliefs and why they were doing what they were doing. And so what the Lord did in April of 1844 is he gave a revelation that would be the governing document for this kingdom. And in it, he said, verily thus sayeth the Lord, ye are my constitution, ye the council of 50 are my constitution, and I am your God, and ye are my spokesman. From henceforth, do as I shall command you, say it the Lord. The more inspired a document is, the shorter it is, you don't need all of these different, you know, clauses and this and that. Just obey the word of the Lord. Just as a council, you guys get revelation and you just obey my word. Very simple, very straightforward. And so how the council operated, we see that revelation was given to establish the kingdom of God in 1844, but it was not formed until two years later in 1844. And it was a body not really known to the the church in general. It was a body of men that the prophet Joseph called that was not known to the church as organization. And they swore an oath to keep the proceedings of the action and their actions private. And more than half of the members had to be in attendance to form a quorum to meet. So it wasn't like just one guy shows up and he's like, okay, this is our, This is our deal. Seniority was determined by age instead of by appointment. And standing chairman was determined by the unanimous vote of the council. And the council was given assignments to search for land, to settle where the people could be free. They discussed and established correct principles of government. They organized and led the state's westward migration. They combated efforts of the U .S. government to meddle in local elections. Isn't that interesting? Even back in the 1840s, 1850s, 1860s, 1870s, 1880s, they had to deal with corrupt officials or conspiring officials that were trying to interfere with elections. The last meeting that we have on record of the Council of 50 was in 1888. And of course, unanimity, it wasn't just a majority rules. They had to have a unanimous vote to be able to make decisions. And so in 1888, there was, John Taylor was discussing the actions of the council of 50. And what was their thought process? Like how did they have to have their minds focused to be able to act appropriately within the council? And he said, these words, the Lord's Constitution that we just read the revelation for, are pregnant with meaning and full of intelligence and point out our position in regard to these matters. It is expected of us that we can act right and that our interests are bound up in the kingdom of God. That we should consider we are not acting for ourselves, but we are the spokesman of God selected for that purpose in the interest of God and to bless and exalt all humanity. We acknowledge him as our God, and all men who enter this body must acknowledge him here. We must acknowledge God. We are not here for our own interests. We have to acknowledge God and his word. And on another occasion, you have Orson Pratt in the council meeting talking about their mindsets as well. When he explained, in the church, we take the law of God and his priesthood as the constitution of his church, what we find in in the Doctrine Covenants, right? Here in this council, the Council of 50, we have a living constitution, not a written one, which we must conform to. We must conform to the revelations of God. So why was the Council of the 50 doing what they were doing, right? Why do they need to exist? Because this was a separate government. They were within the boundaries of the United States until they came to Utah when they left the United States and they were still building the kingdom of God, but because the United States invaded Utah and claimed it as their own, Utah became a occupied territory, occupied by a foreign invader. And so at that point, they were the legitimate government of the land and they were being oppressed by an illegitimate oppressive government. But when they were in the United States and they were forming this, why were they doing that? Why did they feel like they had to do a separate government? To be able to do that, we have to look at those principles that were in the constitution that they were writing. That was more of a declaration and explain what they were doing. And so This is to they were, what they were doing was to hasten the accomplishment of his purposes, to fulfill the predictions of the prophets to establish a pure government. They realized they had a role to play. Things don't just happen by themselves, right? You know, when Isaiah prophesied of the coming of the Savior, Mary still had a role to play. She still had actions that she had to do. And so the same thing with the establishment of the kingdom of God, there was work to be done by individuals. And so that's why they were doing what they were doing. That has been predicted by all the Holy prophets since the world began to be brought to pass on the earth in the last days. You can find that again in the council of 50 minutes. So let's go back to Daniel seeing what it was that was being prophesied of. Okay, again, we look at this in January chapter 2, starting in verses 34. A thou solaced till that a stone was cut without hands which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay and break them to pieces. So those were the different governments. This then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold broken to pieces together became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors and the wind carried them away that no place was found for them and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth for as much as thou solace that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it break in pieces the iron the brass the clay and the silver and the gold so this kingdom that was established by god through revelation went on to crush the governments of the earth and i i think you know daniel here is being very clear on the implications of this, that this would be considered treason, of course, because you're destroying other governments. And so there's an idea when we, I want to talk about that is debunked here by the prophet Joseph. A lot of times when we think of the kingdom of God and the stone, we think of it as a stone that's rolling down a hill. He says no, right here. The prophet Joseph explains that this is wrong. He says, I will correct the idea in regard to the little stone rolling forward. That is not so. It is stationary like a grindstone. And like a grindstone, it revolves and said that when the elders went abroad preaching the gospel and people believed and obeyed the gospel and became believers in the book of Mormon, they were added to the little stone. Thus they gathered around it so that it grew larger and larger until it had already began to pinch the toes of the image. And it, the stone, would finally break it, the image in pieces and be carried away like the chaff of the summer threshing floor, while the stone kept growing until it filled the whole earth. That is an important, why would you, why is that an important distinction? Ben, why are you bringing that out? Why does that matter? What's the difference between a stone rolling down and a grindstone rotating? A stone that rolls down a hill, there's nothing you can do about it. The idea that it's a stone rolling down a mountain is to make it so that we think that there's nothing that can be done, that we have no part to play. They were saying, no, we're doing this because we need to fulfill the ancient prophecies by our actions. and that's exactly what the prophet Joseph is saying here is that no no no this is a grindstone it needs people moving that grindstone to be able to grow that stone that kingdom Satan is trying to get us out of the battle by thinking there's nothing that we can do about it that is just something that's just going to happen on its own we're just waiting for to watch it all you know play in front of us like a movie no no no we are we have a part to play we cannot be passive in this movement. So how is it being implemented? How was it being implemented? And what was it like in practice? So we look at a timeline where we have the martyrdom of Joseph and Hiram in June of 1844. And then we have in 1847 where Brigham Young has sustained the second president of the church. Isn't that interesting? They have that many years where you've got basically three years where there is no president of the church. We learn in the Joseph Smith papers that for three and a half years, it was actually under the authority of the Council of 50, the Kingdom of God, that the day -to -day operations of the saints moving from Illinois to Utah was under the direction of this council of 50, under the kingdom of God, because there was no church president. So the council was the governing body on the Trek West. It was the kingdom of God organization that brought the saints across the plains, not the authority of the church. And it was the priest of authority in operation. It was the political body of the kingdom of God that organized tens and 50s and brought the saints across the plains. Some really interesting things that are brought out in the minutes now that we have them. And so in settling disputes, John Taylor lays out some principles that I just love. He says, whenever a man would attempt to pop you through the courts of the law of the land, you should pop him through the courts of our church. You should bring him up for violating the laws of the church for going to law before the ungodly instead of using the means that God has appointed. So if you're a part of the kingdom of God and you're still going to the Gentile courts to settle a dispute, basically you're involved in idolatry. You're saying that you do not recognize the kingdom of God and that you only recognize the satanic governments that are ruled by a satanic conspiracy. He goes on and he says, and I will give you fair warning. And I call upon Brother Piri here, who is president of the stake, to carry it out that when he signs any latter -day saint under his jurisdiction going to law with his brother before the ungodly to bring him up and deal with him for his fellowship this is a correct principle before god and as saints of god we should be governed by his laws and not by the laws of the world we should be governed by his laws not by the laws of a satanic government and when we get classes of four and five. You're going to understand what he's talking about here because literally the governments that we are under right now, again, like we have out west, this invading government is clearly satanic. And to say that we are going to submit ourselves to those laws above the laws of God is just insanity. He goes on to say, but these laws are made and provided for our protection, and what is proper and right, we can use them in common with other citizens. So he's saying that because people not in the kingdom, they haven't made a covenant to be a part of that kingdom. And so to be able to protect our rights with those that are not a part of the kingdom of God, then you use those courts because those individuals outside of the kingdom haven't promised, you know, haven't subjected themselves to be a part of the kingdom of God. And so they're not going to recognize that, and it wouldn't be fair to hold you accountable to those that you haven't said that you would be accountable to. But we have laws among ourselves, and all honorable men among us will submit to the decisions of our church authorities and those who are not honorable, we do not want, and we will cut them off. If you're not going to be subject to the kingdom of God that you said you were going to be subject to, and we don't want you, go ahead and move on. If you're not going to repent, just make things easier for everybody. And so, but now, now what, right? We obviously don't have this. What did the prophet Joseph say, though? These are things that we have to be, because I said, right, that the last time that we know that they've met is in 1888. But the prophet Joseph said that If the saints possess the kingdom, I think they will have to take it. And the sooner it is done, the more easily it is accomplished. It's not, this isn't rolling down a hill and is just going to smack us in the face. We have to take it. And the sooner it is done, the easier it is accomplished. It was going to be difficult back in their day, but if they had done it in the 1840s, it would have been easier than it would have been if for the Saints when they came out to Utah. And if they had done it in 1850s, in 1860s, and 1870s and 1880s, it would have been easier to do than it would be for us today. And as hard and as daunting as it might seem to accomplish today, it will be even more difficult for our children and our grandchildren. And so do we want that on our conscience that we did nothing to even attempt because it was too hard, the kingdom of God? And we'll just put that off to a future generation, that it will be even more exponentially harder than it will be for us. As hard is it will be for us. We have a job to do. So how do we take it? First is we have to understand why we don't have the kingdom. Building understanding is always the foundation for taking action. You don't take action before you have understanding. We do not have the kingdom of God in operation today because the kingdoms of the devil are so prevalent upon the land, the weakness of the saints are so evident that God could not establish it in its power. And second, we're not acting like it. We have to act like we want the kingdom of God. We have to act like we are under the kingdom of God. We have to stop the idolatry of following satanic governments, apostate governments that aren't found the constitution that are not following God's law that in the United States was founded upon. And so we're going to be getting into, of course, the kingdoms of the devil in the next two classes. Because if we don't understand the kingdom of the devil, what they've done to try and stop us, then we're not going to be able to take effective action. We also have to look at ourselves and our weaknesses. What am I doing in my life that is showing that I'm too weak to be able to have the strength that is going to be needed to be able to establish the kingdom as hard as it will be today compared to how it would be in the past. Brigham Young explained this principle that will help us in these things, is we do not intend to have any trade or commerce with the Gentile world. For so long as we buy of them, we are in a degree dependent upon them. This is one of the ways that we act like it, right? During 2020 and 2021, there were people that said, I'm going to violate my conscience because I'm dependent upon the world for my income. I'm dependent on the world for the things that I need every day, produce. And so to be able to keep my income, I'm going to violate my conscience and get a vaccine. I'm going to violate my conscience and do X. I'm going to violate my conscience until I can go and get groceries and wear a face diaper. There were options. There were things that people could do, but because they were scared and fearful, they were not acting like they wanted the kingdom of God. They violated their consciences, and they subjected themselves to the kingdoms of the devil. And so the more that we are dependent upon them, the more that we have to subject ourselves to them. And so we take it by becoming independent of them. The kingdom of God cannot rise independent of the Gentile nations until we produce, manufacture, and make every article of use, convenience or necessity among our own people. If you want to be a part of the kingdom of God, if you want to stop giving power to the kingdoms of the devil, you cannot depend on them for the things that you need. This cannot rise until we do these things. So just giving us steps. These are things that we can start with. What can we do? Start with these things. So shall we need no commerce with the nations, I'm determined to cut every thread of this kind and live free and independent, untrammeled by any other detestable customs and practices? The practices of the world are detestable. And the more independent that we are, the less that we have to be intertwined with them. He also said the time must come when there will be a separation between this kingdom and the kingdoms of this world. Even in every point of view. He's not mincing words here. There is a separation coming between the kingdoms of the world and the kingdom of God. The time must come when this kingdom must be free and independent from all other kingdoms. Are you prepared to have the thread cut today? What can we do to cut the thread between ourselves and the kingdoms of the devil? We have to start working on that. That's how we take it. We must take it. And fulfilling the prophecies, we look at the scriptures in 3rd Nephi, Chapter 21, the Lord says, And my people are the remnant of Jacob. Who are the remnant of Jacob? Ephraim and Manassah, not just Manassah. Ephraim and Manassah are the remnant of Jacob. And they shall be among the Gentiles. Yea, in the midst of them as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep, who if he go through both treadeth down and tarith in pieces, and none can deliver. Action. Are we one of his people? Are we of Ephraim? Are we of Manasse? Or we of the lineage of Jacob? So continuing on in a revelation that was given to the prophet Joseph by the Lord in 1831, he says something. This was originally in Doctrine Covenant, Section 42. But when it became public, It caused some backlash, and so it was removed from the Doctrine and Covenants, but this was a revelation nonetheless. It said, for it shall come to pass that which I spake by the mouth of my prophets shall be fulfilled, for I will consecrate the riches of the Gentiles unto my people, which are of the House of Israel. In class seven, we're going to discuss this even more. And so I urge you to, if you're interested in the solutions, to reach out to us after you're done with the six classes and talk to us about solutions and how we implement this action of taking the kingdom. John Taylor, always criticized for defying the United States, was asked, do you profess to ignore the laws of the land? No. Not unless they are unconstitutional, then I would do it all the time. So, of course, we do not obey things that violate natural law, that violate our conscience. To just obey something simply because it makes life easier is crazy. It's saying that you are subject, that you treat the kingdoms of this world as that you fear man more than God. Which John Taylor, of course, did not. We nullify. That's the things that we do. But nullify, disobey the law of the land, what about the 12th article of faith? What about Romans 13? Go into it in great detail and two documentaries that we have on our website. I encourage you to go check out the 12th article of faith and Romans 13. But I'll just kind of cover it real quickly here. What does the 12th article of faith say? We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, magistrates, and magistrates in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law. This is how most people, though, read the article of faith. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, and in obeying honoring, and sustain the law. That and is not in the article of faith, though. The 12th article of faith has no coordinating conjunction. This means that there is only one complete sentence, not two clauses. One sentence, not two clauses. By adding a coordinating conjunction, we change the meaning of the 12th Article of Faith to have two separate clauses. This is what we read it as having two clauses that we believe in being a subject to kings, presence, rulers, and magistrates, and that we believe in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law. That is not, the 12th Article of Faith says. We believe in being 172 kings, Presidents, rulers, and magistrates in obeying honoring and sustaining the law. Without the court in conjunction, the belief of being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates is qualified, like saying only when they honor and sustain and obey the law, the Constitution of the United States. When they obey the Constitution, sure, they're not going to have you do anything that violates God's law. But when they don't obey the law of the land, the Constitution, then natural law, then we have no obligation to obey them because they're violating the law. Our belief in being a subject to these leaders only go so far as they honor, obey, and sustain the law. Without the coordinating conjunction, the qualifying, obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law is applied to the leaders, not to the people, just like the Constitution itself. People have this misnomer that it rules the people. It is a government. It is a document that rules the government. We have totally been misled about what the 12th article of faith means. So let me just show you some examples. If you don't believe this, right, that means you think that these men are wrong when they said these things. In the first pretency message in 1886, when he said God is superior to governments. He tells, but he tells the church to befriend the constitutional law of the land. If it is not constitutional, it comes of evil, D .N .C. 98. It must support the principle of freedom in maintaining rights and privileges. If not, it comes of evil. Whatever is contrary to the freedom guaranteed by the Constitution, which includes not mere belief, but the free exercise of religion, he does not command his people to obey, but says they shall do his will. If the government is telling you to disobey God, our obligation is to obey God and disobey the government. If we don't believe that, then we think that Donovan was wrong for not following the order, right? Alexander Donovan, he was given an order to kill the prophet Joseph and other leaders of the church in the 1830s. And he said this, it is cold -blooded murder, I will not obey your order, and if you execute these men, I will hold you responsible before an earthly tribunal. Today we see cops saying, whether it's, you know, whether what I'm being told or not is constitutional or not, that's not my job. That's for the courts to decide. He's saying no, and today we have that same moral obligation to know for ourselves. Because if we believe that we just do what the government says, then we believe that Alexander Donovan should have killed Joseph. And that is a preposterous position, an unreasonable position to be in. We have an obligation before God to understand natural law, and so that we know what is being violated, and we will not go along with it, that we will obey God and not a satanic government. So how do we judge? Here's some key principles that we find in the Doctrine Covenant, Section 98, starting in verse 5, where the Lord says, in that law, which is constitutional, supporting that principle of freedom in maintaining rights and privileges, belongs to all mankind and is justifiable before me. So we don't need the Supreme Court to tell us what's constitutional. He tells us right here. He gives the definition, the common land law of the land which is constitutional comma so now here's the definition supporting that principle of freedom and maintaining rights and privileges that's what's constitutional anything more or less than this is evil anything more or less than supporting maintaining principle of freedom and maintaining rights and privileges is evil flat out we don't need the supreme court to give us any more information than this what do we do with evil? Do we just bear with it? Verse 11 tells us, and I give unto you a commandment that ye shall forsake all evil. Anything more or less than this is evil. Forsake evil. Forake anything more or less than what is constitutional. Very simple. We do not have to overcomplicate this. So what's the 1830 definition of forsake? To quit or to leave entirely, to desert or to abandon, to depart from, to abandon, to renounce, to reject, to lead, to withdraw from. In scripture, God forsakes his people when he withdraws his aid or the light of his countenance. Knowify, don't obey. So taking it, taking the kingdom of God, whose is it, right? Of course. This key principles that we see in the declaration of the kingdom of God, starts off kind of like the Constitution of United States, we the people of the kingdom of God, knowing that all power emanates from God, that the earth is his possession, and he alone, God alone, has the right to govern the nations and set in order the kingdoms of this world. He alone, God alone, it's gods, and that he only has a right to institute laws. Who has a right to institute laws? United States government? United Nations? No, God is the only one that has the right to institute laws and established decrees for the government of the human family, for he is our father in heaven. All the nations have obtained their power, rule, and authority by usurpation, rebellion, bloodshed, tyranny, and fraud. So, even though we see in D &C 98, the Constitution was established to protect everyone, D &C 101 as well. By 1844, they had completely and utterly apostatized from the Constitution, and therefore every government on the earth from 1844, until today, whatever day you're watching this, if the Kingdom of God has not been established, has obtained their power through fraud, bloodshed, tyranny. It is illegitimate if it is not the kingdom of God. Orson Hyde taught this principle when he said God is the legitimate ruler of the universe and no government under him is strictly legal except it be duly authorized and commissioned by him. There never was a legitimate government on the earth standing in the favor of heaven without an inspired prophet of God to direct its policy neither will there ever be. Is the state that you live in fall under this? Is the United States fall under this? Does whatever nation that you live in, if it's not the kingdom of God, does it fall under this? Obviously not. Going back to that declaration of the concept of the Council of 50, these key principles. And having sought in vain, we looked everywhere, but our efforts were in vain, we couldn't find it among all the nations of the earth to find a government institued by heaven an asylum for the oppressed, a protector of the innocent, and a shield for the defenseless, and an impenetrable ages for the honorable of all nations, uncorrupted by the usurpations of designing men, the contaminating influence of the love of gold and the lawless intrigues of aspiring demagogues, unfettered by unrighteous legislation, and untrammeled by the mandates of an unjust judiciary, not degraded by superstitious or religious influence. They were looking for this. Found it nowhere. God says we've got to establish the kingdom of God now. And those amongst the kingdom of God, of course, there's principles that we discussed in our last class about independence that we have to be founded upon for it to be able to function peacefully. Breem Young said that you all know and have doubtless felt for years the necessity of a removal provided the government should not be sufficiently protective to allow us to worship God according to the dictates of our own consciences and of the omnipotent voice of eternal truth, because two cannot walk together except they be agreed. If you're going to be under a government for it to exist in peace, you have to follow this principle. Otherwise, we see the clashes that we see today. It is as natural as throwing a ball up in the air and having it fall back down. It is not something that can be avoided. So they're doing it again as we go back to review this part, to establish his purposes, to fulfill the predictions, to lift up an ensign to the nations and establish a standard for all people that the strength and the power and the glory and the exaltation of the and the kingdom and the dominion under the whole heavens may become the kingdom of our God and His Christ, as has been predicted by all the holy prophets since the world began to be brought to pass on the earth in the last days. No one's going to do this for us. This isn't something we're just waiting for that stone to roll down and smack us in the face saying here's the kingdom. John Taylor says if Zion is never built up. The Lord will never come. He must have a people and a place to come to. Are you a part of that people? Are you becoming that person that the Lord can come to? Are you living in a place? Are you building a place that the Lord can come to? Are you taking it through your actions? No one's going to do this for us. As Brigham Young says, The man who does not labor from day to day and from hour to hour for building up this kingdom and bringing forth the fullness of the kingdom of God on the earth and the establishment of Zion will sooner or later fall. There is no neutral ground. We have to take sides. God's side or mammons. No one's going to do this for us. We've been commanded to awaken to a sense of our awful situation about the canons of the world that have attacked our efforts that you can read about in invasions volume one and two. I encourage you to get to go into more detail on these things. We have to. That evil may be done away with and that Satan may have no more power upon the hearts of the children of man by destroying the syrian by building zion by building the kingdom of god this is going to happen the apostle james tells us that we are not to be here only i'm not to say oh man ben you have brought out some great things isn't that great let me go back to doing what i'm doing we have to be doers of the word Otherwise, we are deceiving ourselves. Again, bring out this key point. The Lord's going to fight our battles for us. People say, well, Brigham Young explained that there are some conditions upon that. We all believe the Lord will fight our battles. But how? Will he do it while we are unconcerned and make no effort, whatever for our own safety when an enemy is upon us? If we make no efforts to guard our towns, our houses, our cities, our wives and children, Will the Lord guard them for us? He will not. But if we pursue the opposite course and arrive to help him to accomplish his designs, then he will fight our battles. If this, then that. Very clear. If anyone's going to come help, though, right? It's after we've done everything we can. Of course, the Lord will fill in the gaps for us. He will fight our battles for it. Once we've done all that we can. Because do we believe this or not? No other government, kingdom, dominion, authority, power, rule, or law may be acknowledged by my people. Do we, are we God's people? Do we want to be God's people? By our fruits, we shall be known, as we're going to talk about in three classes, if we are not God's people, then we will recognize a different authority. But if we are God's people, which I strive to be, this is the only government, kingdom, dominion, authority, power, rule, or law that I will acknowledge. As John Taylor explained that we are today a kingdom of priests holding to a very great extent the holy priesthood and it is essential that we submit ourselves to the laws of that priesthood and be governed by them in all of our actions not just you know oh you know the things that you need to do to be able to go to church on Sunday but in everything that we do because it is a kingdom and again in that declaration by the council of 50 i the lord will do nothing but what i have revealed or shall reveal unto my servants the prophets and i have appointed one man holding the keys and authority pertaining to my holy priesthood, to whom I will reveal my laws, my statutes, my ordinances, my judgments, my will and pleasure concerning my kingdom on the earth. But our agency, of course, is still protected, as John Taylor explains here, it says the proper mode of government is this. God first speaks, and then the people have their action. It is for them to say whether they will have his dictation or not. The government of God is not a species of priestcraft after the order of the Church of Rome, where one man dictates and everybody obeys without having a voice in it. We have our voice and agency and act with the most perfect freedom. Still, we believe there is correct order. We have our agency, but of course there is correct order to things. So this governing body, John Taylor, had a revelation to the Council of 50 in 1882. And the Lord told John Taylor, and because according to my eternal decrees, the free agency of man should be guaranteed to all men. I moved upon him to introduce into my kingdom certain parties, not of my church, for the purpose of exhibiting into my kingdom that I would still maintain the free agency of man and that I would hold inviolate the principle and will still maintain it to the end. God does not force you to be a part of his church, does not force you to follow anything that he says. You have your agency. And the consequences, of course, will be attached to it. But he will maintain that to the end. So he brought people that were not even a part of the church into the governing council of the kingdom of God. And so God recognized their agency. Even when we choose evil, he will put the consequences back on us. I want to tell you an example of what happened to the prophet Joseph Smith regarding these things. And some things that were going on where he was actually working on being released as president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints and having his brother Hiram replace him as the president of the church. And so some men came to him. The It goes, last Monday morning, certain men came to me. Brother Joseph, Hiram is no prophet. He can't lead the church. I felt curious and said, here we learn in a priesthood after the order of Melchizedek, prophet, priest, and king. And I will advance from prophet to priest and then the king. He was moving on to the kingdom of God and wanted that. But when it came time and the church said, no, We are not going to release you, Joseph. We're going to keep you and not have Iram, as you've called, to be in that position. Under common consent, the church had its agency to choose to obey God or to not. Another occasion, he wanted to release Sidney Rigdon as a member of the First Presidency. Conference assembled and proceeded to business in the first case and standing of Elder Sidney Rigdon counselor in the first presidency. Joseph addressed the conference, stated his dissatisfaction with Elder Sidney Rigden, and Joseph stated that he did not wish to retain in that station in the first presidency. And then after a defense from Rigden, a conference voted that Elder Sidney Rigden be permitted to retain his station. So Joseph said, I want to release him. Sydney Rigden said, here's my defense. And the church voted to keep Sidney against what Joseph said. And Joseph's response to the church, deciding to keep Sydney, said, President Joseph Smith arose and said, I have thrown him off my shoulders. And you have again put him on me. You may carry him, but I will not. Gave him their agency said, we'll kill, but I am, I've rid my garments, I've said my peace, and you guys chose to keep him. You suffer the consequences. The Lord will allow us to do these things. We need to recognize this. And so the political kingdom of God is something we are responsible to establish before the second coming. The kingdom of God is literal. The kingdom of God is political. The kingdom of God is separate from the church. The kingdom of God is the only legitimate government. God will only fight our battles if we give him something to support and we must take it through our actions and our understanding. and we must make these principles understood and popular. Can't build a kingdom of one. And build a people for God to use in his way for these purposes. And so that there is a people for God to work with through his established channels to make sure that these things happen. If we don't now have a people for him to do these things, he cannot reveal the next steps. And so we have certain things revealed to us that we can act upon and wait for the Lord to reveal more. So why did the council of 50 stop meeting? Why did it not get fully implemented? Stay tuned for our next two classes which really get into this satanic conspiracy that has worked so long and so hard to hamper the efforts of the political kingdom of God established in until then I encourage you to become the worst global citizen and now you can see more of what that really means to be a citizen of the kingdom of God now encourage you to go forward and take the retention quiz and make sure that you have felt that you have built your understanding sufficiently to be able to move forward to our next course as we'll be talking about the global conspiracy until then I'll I'll see you next time. I am Ben McClintock from the Tree of Liberty Society.
