Through primary sources, statements from early LDS leaders, and historical evidence, it challenges the modern veneration of Lincoln and demonstrates how his legacy laid the groundwork for the deification of government itself. Ultimately, the presentation calls for renewed understanding of the principles of self-government and a restoration of the founding vision of independent, sovereign states bound together only by voluntary compact and adherence to divine law.
