TRANSCRIPT
Why was the Council of the 50 doing what they were doing right?
Why do they need to exist?
Because this was a separate government They were within the the boundaries of the United States Until they came to Utah When they left the United States and they were still building the kingdom of God, but because the United States invaded Utah and claimed it as their own, Utah became a occupied territory, occupied by a foreign invader, and so at that point they were at the legitimate government of the land and They were being oppressed by an illegitimate oppressive government.
But when they were in the United States, and they were forming this, why were they doing that?
Why did they feel like they had to do a separate government to be able to do that?
We have to look at those principles that were in the Constitution that they were writing, that was more of a declaration, explaining what they were doing.
So they explained this, what they were doing was to hasten the accomplishment of his purposes, to fulfill the predictions of the prophets to  establish a pure government.
They realized they had a role to play.
Things don’t just happen by themselves, right?
You know, when Isaiah prophesied of the coming of the Savior, Mary still had a role to play.
She still had actions that she had to do.
And so the same thing with the establishment of the Kingdom of God.
There was work to be done by individuals.
And So that’s why they were doing what they were doing, that has been predicted by all the holy prophets since the world began to be brought to pass on the earth in the last days.
You can find that again in the Council of Fifty Minutes.
