In tonight’s training, we examine Zionism as promoted through the Scofield Bible and its deep integration into modern Christian eschatology, particularly rapture theology. We trace its modern political origins — from early Rothschild funding of settlements in the 1880s, through Theodor Herzl’s The Jewish State, the 1917 Balfour Declaration, the UN Partition Plan, and the establishment of the modern State of Israel — while contrasting these developments with traditional Christian and biblical understandings of Israel, covenants, and end-times prophecy.

The session explores how Scofield’s notes introduced novel interpretations of unconditional land promises and dispensationalism that differ markedly from centuries of prior Christian teaching. It reviews sermons and statements by prominent Christian Zionist pastors and U.S. political figures (including Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee) that equate support for the current Israeli government with biblical obedience. We also address the theological claim that those who follow Christ are the true heirs of Abraham’s promises (Galatians 3, Romans 9), the historical role of certain banking families and geopolitical maneuvers, and the national security and stewardship implications of unconditional foreign aid and policy alignment.

This training builds directly on last week’s discussion of the rapture cult, equipping members with historical context, scriptural clarity, and practical understanding so we can more effectively “occupy till I come” and resist doctrines that promote fatalism or misplaced priorities.
