Member training from December 15th 2025.
Tonight’s meeting we lay out both the background and the practical roadmap for what we do at the Tree of Liberty Society and why we do it, grounded in decades of experience studying tyranny, natural law, and successful efforts to restore liberty throughout history. I explain how real, lasting change only comes when we balance education with action—building understanding first, then stepping outside our comfort zones to influence culture, communities, and institutions. Drawing on real examples like the successful nullification of Real ID in Arizona, I show that organized, principled, local action can force even unwilling officials to do the right thing. This is not about short-term wins, political theater, or outsourcing responsibility, but about patiently informing people, working with others on single issues where agreement is possible, and steadily shifting culture so liberty can be defended and reclaimed for the long term.

physical, for digital, or for audio. It’s on Kindle. It’s on Nook.
And you can get it on Barnes and Noble or Amazon. If you want the audiobook, you
can get it at our website, Tree of Liberty Society .com. I also wanted to announce
a new book that we have just put up online today.
It’s not quite on the website yet. It’ll be there tomorrow because I’m waiting until
it
more of a booklet. It’s only just under 50 pages. So it’s not very long. It is a
historical document. So just give me a little bit of background of what led to
this. About 15 to 20 years ago, somebody gave me this anonymously written
intelligence report. Kind of had a feel of an FBI report, but I don’t think that’s
what it was. But it was an anonymously written intelligence report about when it was
written in the late 70s, Dallin H. Oaks was the president of BYU, and it was going
over his history, going into college and in the judiciary and the different things
that he was involved with. But there were no sources to each of the claims in the
document. And so Rod and I have been spending the last little while going through
and sourcing all of the claims in the original report and then updating it to
things that have happened part of his history since he was the president of BYU.
It’s not anti -Mormon, it’s not pro -Mormon. It is just a report on the record of
an individual. So if it’s not for Mormons, it’s not for non -Mormans.
It’s for everyone that lives in an area that has influence.
And I hope it’s not too much like an FBI report because, you know, most of the
FBI reports seem to be fixed in these days. So it’s not fiction. It is not
fiction. We’ve been able to source everything that is in the book. Okay. And so
that’s available.
Yeah, correct, correct. I don’t, yeah, we don’t publish a lot of fiction here at
the Tree of Liberty Society.
Rod, I don’t know if you have any more comments on that, anything else to share
that you think would be beneficial.
invasion i thought i knew everything until i read the book right uh yeah this is
kind of the same thing here too there’s a lot that people uh do not know and it
will be very eye opening yep
any other questions yeah what are you going to have what are you going to be asked
for the printed copy how much so oh for the physical yeah uh eight eight dollars
seven 99 uh good deal
any other questions
gone through the manual and are continuing to go through the manual for specifics,
but I’m going to go into specifics on the things that we should be doing because
hopefully we understand now a lot of the reasons and we understand really well the
reasons why we don’t do a lot of the things that we don’t do. And so this is the
things that we need to be doing and that we should be doing as members. All of
us, you we’re building an understanding, but as a, you know, it’s this balance that
we always have to be engaged in of how much do I, you know, do I wait until I
know X amount? And so, but we also don’t want to be ever learning and never coming
to, you know, knowledge and never acting on the information because then it does
drive us crazy. And so, you know, it’s just, we need to have this
random path that we’re on of building our understanding base at the same time of
taking action. And so that’s what I’m going to get into tonight. But of course,
before we take action, we need to make sure that we are getting knowledge. And the
situation that we’re in today is because we are perishing because of lack of
knowledge. We don’t understand the conspiracy. We don’t understand the way it
operates. We don’t understand the fundamentals of natural law, the principles of
liberty.
other people have said as effective and then learning, maybe it’s not, or here’s a
more effective way of doing it. But I’ve been doing this actively in many different
areas of the union for 25 years now. And so I’ve got a lot of experience in
understanding what does work, what doesn’t work, and why those things work and why
the things that don’t work, don’t work. So that’s a lot of it right there. I’ve
got more experience than most people that are involved Thank you.
plans. And so I’ve studied those. And then I’ve also studied those that have been
effective in restoring lost liberty, studying what the founders did. What was the
foundation that they laid to be able to gain independence? Looking at the pilgrims,
looking at ancient Israel, right? Just going throughout history and looking at
societies and cultures that were under tyranny. And what was it that they did?
What are the what are the ingredients that they put together to be able to restore
liberty and so uh so the things that i’m going to be talking about are based on a
mixture of all of those things okay so just so you know it’s not just uh i’m not
just here for kicks and giggles so i want to talk about examples of effective
defense because you can’t just have a defense you can’t and you also can’t just
have
So the first one being,
real ID. And so back in 2000, if you’re not aware, we’ve talked about real ID.
A lot of states currently have on their driver’s licenses. You look at your driver’s
license, and it has a yellow star on it. And that means that your state driver’s
license is compliant with this national ID program called the Real ID. So the Real
ID was passed under the Republican…
into effect. You cannot go into federal buildings, courthouses, the white, you know,
you can’t go to the White House tour. You can’t go to visit Congress. You can’t go
on airplanes.
So, you know, wipes out international travel without having an ID that is real ID
compliant. Okay. So that was passed in 2005. And
by, again, by Republicans as a, under the guise of fighting terrorism.
So if you weren’t in favor of a national ID, you are obviously in favor of the
terrorists because this is how we’re going to, to beat the terrorists by having a
national ID card. And so I organized, I was in Arizona at the time.
And we organized amongst many different organizations.
to gather together to get the state legislature in the state of Arizona to nullify.
So we’re going on the defense. We’re not, we’re not repealing it,
but we’re just saying in our state, we’re not going to enforce the real ID. We’re
not going to force everybody in that state to have this national ID card.
And so it was very difficult because when we first introduced the subject to
legislators, none of them wanted to go against the Republican president.
They didn’t want to be seen as rhinos because if you go against the president,
you’ll go against the Republican Congress, it must be because you’re a liberal,
right? That’s the mindset that a lot of people have. And then, of course, because
this is a part of the New World Order scheme, the governor of the time was a
Democrat by the name of Janet Napolitano. She was the director of Homeland Security
under Barack Obama. And so because of that,
she didn’t want to go against it either. And so we had this hugely uphill battle
where we had nobody in government that was wanting to put this forward and move it
forward. And in fact, the governor said, you can try to get it through the
legislative body, but I’m going to just veto it. So don’t waste your time. And so,
but what we did, and I’m going to show you a lot of the steps that we did. And
so I’m not going to get into that specifically right now, the steps that we did to
do this, but we moved it and so that we could get evil people to do the right
thing. So this is an effective example of defense where we organized amongst these
different organizations on a single topic that we could all agree on, that we all
opposed, and we worked to get the legislature to do a 180, and they passed the
bill. So the Arizona legislature passed the bill said,
real ID is not in effect in the state of Arizona. But we Then we’re like, okay,
well, the governor already promised to veto it. And so we worked with groups that
would pressure her from a Democrat perspective to get her to not veto the bill
because there’s always three options that a executive branch can do.
They can veto the bill. They can not sign it and just allow it to become law or
they can sign it and sign it into law. And We were just hoping that she would
just ignore it, say, okay, I’m not going to give it my seal of approval, but I’m
also not going to veto it. But because of the program that I’m going to show you,
we were able to get her to not only not veto it. We got her to sign the bill.
And so now to this day, people that have residencies in the state of Arizona do
not have to have this national ID, a compliant driver’s license okay so um also
there’s we’ve talked about also in training this push to build this stepping stone
to a global government in in north america it’s what nafta was about it’s what the
us mca is about and it’s to push us into a european union style government for
north
america and um again because this was done this we have in in the state of arizona
we have a a Republican legislature.
going to take this liberty back and we are going to open up. And so following the
program that I’m going to lay out in tonight’s training and in future trainings, I’m
not going to be able to get to it all tonight. We’re able to go. We’re able to
do both. The defense say no, no further and offense taking background. Okay.
So how does this happen? How do we do
Um, the job, the first thing is to always build understanding. We, you can’t get
people to do anything if they don’t understand the who, what, when, where and why
of behind what they’re being asked to do. If they are, if they are listening and
believing everything that’s going on in the conspiracy controlled media, then they are
not going to do anything to resist what the government is doing. They’re not going
to disobey these fake laws. And so our first job always, and
just, when we’re just talking to people, we pass out literature to educate people on
topics. We have our, you know, we have our books. We have our pass -along cards,
our slim gyms. And we’re distributing those things to help build people’s
understandings on a basic level and then direct them to a link, a website to learn
more about it. If there’s a video, an article, whatever it is, to be able to learn
more about that subject. So those are several different
We either think that person that we’re going to invite over is interested in or
maybe we’ve had a discussion with them and they’re not, they don’t understand it. So
we’re going to invite them over and we’re going to share with them a presentation
to be able to learn more about that subject.
And we can’t underestimate are the influence that we have with other people.
Sometimes, you know, we think that people might not listen.
in the form of family, friends, co -workers, people who go to church with,
organizations that we belong to, et cetera. I know that there are people that come
on training that are members of three or four other organizations. And so as they
attend those other meetings, they are able to have influence on those people that
they’re speaking with. Now, you know, is it the same influence as maybe their local
bishop or pastor? No, you know, it’s going to be varying degrees of influence We’re
going to be.
this if just for example you’re at another you know you’re at a you’re you’re part
of a another organization john birch society tea party uh you know whatever it is
and you share a pamphlet with somebody there um there’s going to be other people
that maybe you don’t know but know the person you’re talking to that are going to
be part of that conversation or that person that you shared a flyer with is then
going to share that pass that flyer on to somebody else and so you can you can
start to see how
personally will know this about me, but I am a, not an outgoing person,
okay, right? I’m at an event, I’m at something, I’m, I don’t need to talk to
anybody and, you know, I’m just going to wait for people to talk to me, even when
I give a presentation, right? I’m about to go on to go talk to people and, you
know, I’m, I’m just as scared as somebody that’s talked for the first time.
and I have my entire life have had a stuttering struggle.
And so to have me be the kind of person that now is out there giving
presentations, doing videos, writing books, talking to people, it is,
it’s something that I have to force myself to do. If I am not forcing myself to
get out of my comfort zone, these pictures are me. I’m just not going to do it.
And so if you, if this is you, don’t think that, oh, Ben does this all the time.
So he can just say this. No, this is this, this is a struggle for me even to
this day. I’ve been doing this like I said for 25 years, but it is still something
that I have to force myself to do. And if I’m not forcing myself to do it, what
you’re looking at in these pictures is me to this day. Okay. So I feel your
struggle, but I’m going to tell you that if I can do it, you can do it. Lots of
people have said, well, I’ve never heard you stutter where I have found tricks to
either hide the stuttering or to try and overcome it in different scenarios, but I
still struggle with it even to this day, even to this night.
And so because getting out of our comfort zone is where the things that we want to
see happen, where it happens. If we’re not willing to get uncomfortable,
we will not see the change that we need to see. And so if we are okay with that,
if we’re going to say, oh, well, that’s just the way it is, I guess, then we
don’t have to go out our comfort But we have to realize that’s the consequence.
Nothing is going to change. But if we want to see the change, then we have to
stretch. We have to get out of our comfort zone. Be willing to do the things that
we would normally not do if we weren’t saying, I need to do something.
Okay. So again, for the shy type, talking to someone about these things can be
difficult. But we have to get out of our comfort zone to do this. Okay. It’s just
a matter of practice. um
and still stuttering, still shy, all of those things,
and I’d never before really forced myself to do these things. And so, but for the
past several years, he’s been watching me doing the videos with the Tree of Liberty
Society. And he was, and he marked, remarked with how over the year,
since he knew me back in 2005 or 2003 to today how much that has changed.
And it’s not a change because of I’m no longer afraid or, you know,
it’s just because practice. I just goof up over and over again until I don’t goof
up in that way anymore. And I goof up in a whole new way. And then I just, you
know, try to just overcome those goofups and do better and better as time goes on.
And that’s what all of us have to recognize and do because otherwise it’s just not
going to work okay so the thing that we can do is is we can practice with an
elevator pitch when we’re when we’re going to decide when or where and who am I
going to talk to about something when when and who and where am I going to pass
them a book a link to a video pass along card right we if it’s somebody that we
know we can’t just say we can’t just say here card right it’s it’s helpful for us
to be able to give some background an elevator pitch doesn’t mean it has to be
done in an elevator it just means you know you’re in an elevator for a short
amount of time how can I get the point across to this individual in the most
effective yet short period of time okay and so as we develop these things,
as we practice them, as we use them and say, okay, that didn’t work very well,
widening it work. And then, and we start to polish our elevator pitch,
we get better. But, you know, even for people like, right, an elevator pitch can be
maybe too big of a leap at first. And so getting our toes wet and sharing these
things with people, we can just start off with just three words, right just here
read this here watch this if we just start off we just if we’re if that’s the
amount of getting out of our comfort zone that it that we can handle at the time
then let’s do that here read this here’s the book here’s a pamphlet here’s an
article that i printed off from the tree of liberty society website here watch this
it’s a QR code to one of our videos it’s a QR code to our boot camp you know
whatever it is just you know if you’re going to start somewhere start with
This is a video that explains that in more detail. I encourage you to go watch it.
Here’s a link to it. And so we can develop that elevator pitch to be more and
more effective as time goes on. But if we don’t get out of our comfort zones, that
will never happen.
So,
and we do that, it’s easier to get out of our comfort zones and share somebody,
something that we have if we’re already prepared. If we’ve got some pass along cards
with us, we’ve got a, we’ve got a,
Because we’re focused on the beast, not just focusing on these tangents,
on these tentacles, these distractions.
We’re working to inform and reform the culture. We’re not just saying, send me your
money, and I’m going to go lobby this Satanist for you.
And also because maybe another reason is we’re a cumulative, right? We’re building
understanding. So We’re building that solid foundation through victories and defeats
even. And so that way, when we, as time goes on, all of our victories will be
solid and long -lasting. Our solution is long range. It’s not a short -term solution.
And we have to build the informed culture. And we have to shift the culture. These
are just examples you might use of sharing with someone of why you appreciate what
we do at the Tree of Liberty Society.
Next after that, right, is following up with them. It’s one of the most important
steps to success. And there’s two kinds of follow -up, right? We follow up
communication with an email, a text, phone call, and it’s an important tool in
completing what we did earlier with the individual. It can be used to make
additional point or offer additional information. You follow it up and they say they
have another question or, Hey, do you?
Liberty organizations for many, many years. And, but it just something triggered.
And they watched one video and they said, oh, my goodness, I didn’t realize that.
And then they said, give me another one. Give me another one. And about over the
span of two weeks, we’ve shared about 15 different videos and articles about
different topics. And they joined late last week, became a new member of the Tree
of Liberty Society. And it’s somebody that I’ve literally known for 15 years. and so
um
It adds to the seriousness or the gravity to what you’re sharing with them and
you’re able to get into more detail with them, right? In -person presentations, live
Zoom presentations or videos of your personal favorite presentations. Those are
different options. So, you know, I’m not always able to make it to where everybody
is. So, but if you want a live presentation, We can schedule something where we do
this live over Zoom. Or you’re just like, hey, maybe I can’t work with,
you know, this video is already good enough. Let’s just have people over and share
this video with people. And so to be able to set that up, you need to identify 10
to 20 people that you know personally that you will invite to your home to be a
part of this presentation or video showing.
risk, you know, going to this meeting at my friend’s house because they said that
this was important to them. And if, you know, this is somebody that, you know, you
have mutual respect for, they’re going to take this seriously. And then send them a
reminder the day before and so that you get as much, you know, turn out as you
can get. And then you have time afterwards for a group conversation after the
presentation after the video showing and so that way it’s not just a meet eat and
retreat or you’re just getting together to say hey look at this cool video and then
everybody just leaves but you’re going to talk to them more about what what’s you
know what are more principles what questions they have what are some things that we
can you know understand better of what can be done about the situation
The next thing is more broad, not so specific as a presentation in your home,
but looking to find people in your area. We’ve talked about this before where it’s
essential that we, if we’re not going to find people of like mind to gather with,
that we help the people that we’re already gathered with help us out with this
battle. And so we do that by changing the community that we’re in. And we do that
through.
where everyone in our neighborhood is at and when they’re at that point. And so if
we’re regularly sharing these things, even if they’re not at that point in the very
beginning, as time goes on, you know, the first couple of times, they might not
even look at the link that you share, but, you know, there’ll maybe six months down
the road. They’re like, this is a topic I find interesting. Let me see what’s going
on here. And it just builds that trust with your neighbors, that you can work with
them in the future. It helps you identify those.
Being informed on this, I better make sure that I’m on the same side as them this
time so that I maintain my credibility with them. And so I’ve seen this being very,
very effective in getting bad people to do the right thing because they’re afraid of
losing credibility with those that are directly there in their own sphere.
Also going to a town hall meeting Because those are people that are already engaged,
that are already caring about things that are happening to them. And so they’re more
likely to check out a video, check out a pamphlet that you can pass along to them.
Okay. Also, other organizations, they have events that they allow other people to
come to and have booths and tables to. And so I encourage you to work with those
other organizations to set up Tree of Liberty Society booths, Or you
everything that we do or believe at the tree of liberty society. There are people
that just aren’t ready for the idea of conspiracy, just for example.
Or they might not be ready for nullification. They might, you know, whatever it is,
they might not be ready for, but that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be involved
in what we’re doing, that we can’t use, that we can’t utilize and work with them
on a specific single issue so an ad hoc committee would be a single issue like you
know you have a nullification committee or uh expose satanic ritual abuse committee
right you identify a topic the tree of liberty society is working on to promote or
to expose and then create a committee dedicated to that topic and that topic alone
you’re like okay you know whatever we think of other topics we all agree on this
let’s all just work on this. So that way you’re able to man
that letterhead about the Stop the North American Community Committee.
Start, stop the North American Union Committee. Yeah. If I can spit it out. And so
you got people that wouldn’t have agreed with us on other issues that we were
working on, but they recognized the truth behind the threat of the North American
Union. And they saw, you know, all these other influential people and businesses that
were involved with this, and we were able to get people on board to stop to on
that issue, and we were able to stop that in Arizona. And whatever state you’re in,
you can apply that to your state. And so you find others in and out of the Tree
of Liberty Society that are interested in that specific topic, and you involve them
in identifying opinion holders that would be willing to put their business, or if
they’re well known, their name on materials promoting that issue.
business that we, several businesses actually, that we got them stickers saying that
we’re not going to enforce the mask mandate. And they, that business owner said to
a mutual friend of ours that that sticker led to their business increasing during
that time period. And so, you know, standing up for an issue actually is helpful to
these people. You know, sometimes they’re afraid. But, But, you know, when people
stand up for something, people that agree with that issue will stand with them and
strengthen them. And that also helps to magnify that issue.
And so, you know, being involved in these types of activities is very helpful in
promoting our overall cause. Man? Yeah. What does ad hoc mean?
I don’t know what you think. I’m pretty sure it’s Latin, but it just, I don’t know
the exact translation, but basically it means single issue committee. Okay.
And so you create a letterhead, you distribute the letterhead to community leaders,
educating on the topic, urging their support or to support something or to stop
something, whatever it is that you’re working on. And that can help magnify your
efforts on that issue. And then that also draws more people to the organization at
large. Okay. So this is something that,
so these are just a few examples. We’re going to get into more examples as we move
on. But this
will get us started, especially as you review these things, as we talk about these
things more, these specific things.
I’m interested in nullification. I’m going to start a nullification committee. Hey,
Ben, let’s get some other members to work with me on this, to be on the committee
head, and let’s go out to other organizations and find people that will support me
on this issue. And you can do that. Or you’re like, hey, you know what? You know,
I’m willing to stick my neck out and invite some friends out to my house for a
presentation. Will you come out to my, you know, work with me to get that taken
care of? you
able to share with others, now it’s time for me to get to work in addition to
spending the time to educate myself. And so we’ve just got a couple of minutes
left. Does anybody have any comments or questions on the things that we’ve covered
tonight just for the next three minutes that we that we have before the meeting
over, please raise your hand. Mark, yes. Yes, after we get to the Q &A,
I’d like to cover a lot of things because I’ve been doing a lot of these things.
But yeah,
and what kind of item for me it needs to be something that really explains it not
only explains what it’s about but motivates to take further action what do you
recommend other than just your website cards that we would hand out at the door so
the slim gym card or we have our two pass along cards that’s materials that we
have right now available for people to be able to do that. And I, I recommend
that, you know, with something that basic, that you, it’s just leave it on their,
you know, leaving in their door. That’s fine. You don’t have to wait. You know, if
it was a, if you were going the neighborhood, passing out books, you might want to
say, okay, I’m going to talk to that person. I’ll just leave 50 books out in the
neighborhood. But with something like a, you know, pass along card or a slim gym,
just leave it at their door. If, or if that’s you know if you want something more
just develop your own little flyer that you print off and cut up into on in the
little sheets and you can tape that or put that in their door that directs them
somewhere to one of our videos or articles that’s what i’d recommend just to be
sure i know what you’re talking about i think i’ve seen this little jim but can
you summarize his contact as well as the pass -long cards yeah let me see i i had
here we go of course that
that they’d be most valuable when you have somebody that is concerned about lost
liberty. Oh, sure. If you put it on a door, many people aren’t. But those who are,
it’s really important to get this kind of handouts into their hands. Yeah. But
you’re, you know, with handouts, you’re just trying to change the culture, even
passively, because that person wouldn’t have even been introduced to that subject
unless you did leave that thing on their door. And so I would encourage
pretty much what you can describe. Yep.
Okay, we are out of time. It is 10 o ‘clock. Let’s have our closing prayer. And
then we can do our open forum.
Let’s see here. Who has?
Rod, would you say the closing prayer for us? Sure. Thanks.
Heavenly Father, we’re thankful once again for the opportunity to meet together. We’re
grateful for all those who took time out of their evening.
